Activists from the German Clean Clothes Campaign demonstrating outside of the adidas annual general meeting, May 8th in Furth, Germany. Inside adidas executives were presented with Play Fair's report on the sportswear industry.
Sonia Lara Campos, formerly a worker at an adidas supplier factory in El Salvador, spoke to adidas executives at the annual general meeting May 8th about labor rights violations in adidas supply chains and the need for them to take action.
Sonia focused her comments on the low salaries workers at adidas suppliers in El Salvador earn -- US$162 US/month, while governmental statistics show that a family of four needs a minimum of US$159/month just for food.
